Submissions for art work are still open (please see information below).

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MAKE IT CLEAR TO US HOW YOU HAVE WORKED IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR. E.g. Private tutoring or working for arts organisations delivering workshops in schools is not public sector work, nor private consultancy in health care or social care. Please make sure you explain your eligibility clearly. Thank you.
Work must be linked to the topic of the public sector at this time.
You can submit up to 6 poems and you may send work that you have previously sent but edited/redrafted.
Please proof work to ensure your work is exactly how you want it to be published.
Attach a Word Doc including the named poems. Please do not attach images/JPEGS of poems/PDFs.
Please ensure work is original, your own and unpublished elsewhere.
Please name attachment SUBMISSION. There is no need to include name as submission are read anonymously.
You may send illustrations, art work or photography to accompany your work if you wish.
Ensure your biography is accurate and that you are happy with this as we will publish this exactly as we receive it, if your work is selected, and there will not be an opportunity to edit this. It should mention your professional role, past or present, in the public sector.
Ensure you provide social media links if you would like your work shared and credited on social media.
You may wish to publish work anonymously. If that is the case, please indicate this when submitting and we will make sure your name and details are not published.
Online journals will be published in December 2021, May 2022 and September 2022.
We will open for submissions for Issue 3 in September 2022.
If you would like to contribute an illustration for the publication, or a potential cover design, please send your work to admin@publicsectorpoetry.co.uk or use the form below.
Work sent should be from public sector workers. We are interested in social documentary photography and art work that makes a statement and/or tells a story about public sector life.
You reserve all the rights to your poetry, but we are unable to offer any payment for submission of poetry into the online journal at this time. Hopefully we will be able to in the future.
We will print a number of journals to give to contributors and public sector workplaces. We may sell some journals online but the cost of these will cover printing and publication. Public Sector Poetry CIC is a not-for-profit organisation.
If poems are printed elsewhere in the future, please credit Public Sector Poetry Journal as their original home.
